Mutual Visa Exemption
China has executed two-way visa free agreement with 24 foreign countries, which permits eligible foreigners with valid ordinary passport to visit China without a visa for a certain days.

Important Note
Mutual Visa Exemption do NOT mean visitors can stay/reside in China for an infinite period. Foreigners must stay within the permitted duration of stay. If you intend to stay beyond the limitation, you’re required to apply for stay permit in local official authority.

Important Notes
Foreigners entering for purposes defined in the visa exemption policy — business, tourism, family visits, or transit — are permitted entry after inspection by Chinese border control. Those entering for work, study, reporting, etc., are not covered by the exemption. It is recommended to carry supporting documents like invitation letters, flight tickets, and hotel reservations matching the stated purpose.

144/72 Hours Transit Visa Free
Since January 2013, Chongqing Jiangbei Airport offers a 72/144-hour visa-free transit policy for foreign nationals from 54 countries. Eligible passengers can transit through Chongqing, China without a visa, provided they meet the following conditions:

Hold passport or international travel document with a validity of 3 months and above.

Own citizenship of certain 54 foreign countries, such as, US, Canada, Australia, etc.

Take connecting (flight or ship) ticket to a third country or region with confirmed date (departing within 72/144 hour after arrival) and seat.

Enter and exit through specific ports.
On arrival, applicants should fill in Temporary Arrival Card to enter and stay in the transit city, accept inquiry from the immigration officer of the Exit & Entry Administration.

F VISA
For attendees from non-eligible visa exemption countries or those planning longer stays, an F Visa is required. This visa is suitable for those participating in exchanges, visits, study tours, and similar activities. There might be country-specific requirements should be aware of. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, please refer to the Chinese Visa Application Service Center and China’s National Immigration Administration.
Invitation Letter
WEO-CEGS 2024 can provide congress attendees with the necessary invitation letter for obtaining F Visa. To request an invitation letter from CEGS 2024, you need to meet one of the following criteria:

Be invited as a speaker at the congress.

Have an abstract accepted for presentation at the congress.

Have registered for onsite participation at the congress.
